Who is Benson Yuson?

Benson passions to wine brought him to both the Old World (Europe’s France, Italy, Spain, Germany & Portugal) and New World (USA, Chile, Argentina, South Africa, Australia & New Zealand) of wine.  He enjoys a career built over 15 years of extensive relevant experience in the hotel, resto-bar, cruise ship and gaming hospitality operations  both as a Sommelier as well as training facilitator and coach.

As a Guest-Client Service Advocate having been part of the pioneer ground breaking team for Shangri-La Hotel Manila, spend years in luxury liner sailing around the world some are the maiden voyage – opening team for Holland America Line MV Volendam & MV Zuiderdam, onboard MS Explorer an expedition ship that sails to Antarctica, Amazon and North Cape and most recently founding Team Member of The Venetian Macau Casino Resort Hotel, Asia’s biggest hotel gaming resort and dubbed as Asia’s Las Vegas conducting front line staff development skills for powerful customer service, wine & spirit product knowledge, sales and service and team synergy.  He joined these companies at set up stage and experienced service culture and system development first hand.

This valuable combination of industry practitioner skill-based experience, and class facilitation proficiency has made Benson one the qualified most passionate and insightful wine & spirits educator in the industry today. His sessions are marked by great enthusiasm, full of fun cool and easy and, most of all, powerful practical learning tools that can be immediately used back at work.

Aside from the several in-house company sponsored seminars and workshop plus the numerous wine & spirits supplier training he had gained. Benson had a chance  to go to  European Union - Macau  Centre for Advance Tourism Studies of the Institute for Tourism Studies (IFT) to be a Certified Mixologist - Bartender.  He was the Designated Department Trainer - Beverage Operations of the Venetian Macau Resort Hotel.  Studied wine at London's oldest Wine Merchant - Berry Bros & Rudd The Fine Wine Centre. He attended the Spanish Wine Experience at The Wine Academy Spain.  Member of the Hong Kong & Macau Sommelier & Bartender Association; Council Of Hotel And Restaurant Educators of the Philippines (COHREP).

Benson is a God fearing man and a devoted and loving husband to his wife, Rosalie, and his four sons Vinci, Vnz, Vaughn, Vico and daughter Vryx.
